• Abrau-Durso presents Brut d'Or Blanc de Noirs, a classic single-varietal sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir.
  
  In the year of its 150th anniversary, the Russian wine house Abrau-Durso has added a new addition to its Brut d'Or collection of single-varietal sparkling wines: Blanc de Noirs, made from Pinot Noir. Previously, the collection featured only the classic sparkling wine Brut d'Or Blanc de Blancs ("white from white"), made exclusively from Chardonnay.
  
  The new Brut d'Or Blanc de Noirs, which translates from French as "white from black," is made from the 2017 harvest, hand-picked from the best plots of the Abrau-Durso vineyards. In the winemaking process, whole bunches of grapes with stems were used, kept cold until pressing, preserving the fullness and complexity of the grape aromas. This wine was made exclusively from cuvée—the juice from the very first pressing—which achieved a clear and almost transparent appearance thanks to careful pressing that prevented the introduction of pigments from the berry skins.
  
  "The Brut d'Or collection was long represented by a single product—Blanc de Blancs made from Chardonnay grapes, which found its devoted fans and won numerous prestigious awards at Russian and international competitions. When deciding to expand this collection, we chose Pinot Noir. This very capricious variety, native to Burgundy, requires a great deal of attention and is sensitive to weather conditions and soil composition. This makes creating an outstanding wine from Pinot Noir doubly challenging. "But we see great potential in the way this variety unfolds in the Abrau-Durso terroir—here it acquires a harmonious structure, and the wines produced from it possess a multifaceted aroma and excellent aging potential," comments Pavel Titov, President of the Abrau-Durso Group of Companies.
  
  Brut d'Or Blanc de Noirs, crafted using the classic method, is a sparkling wine with a delicate golden color and a subtle creamy hue, a persistent mousse, and a soft yet dynamic perlage. The initial wave of aromas reveals rich tones of red berries—currants, strawberries, and cherries. Further exposure to air enhances the berry aromas with delicate notes of pastille and marshmallow. The taste of this elegant wine is fresh and rich, rounded and silky, revealing hints of honey, leaving a delicate fruity finish. Three years of aging in the Abrau-Durso mountain tunnels adds fullness to the flavor palette, allowing subtle undergrowth and truffle notes to emerge in the lingering finish. With aging, this wine's aroma will acquire an even more multifaceted and complex structure, fully revealing the potential of the Pinot Noir grape ripened in the Abrau-Durso terroir.
  
  Brut d'Or Blanc de Noirs is produced in a limited edition of 15,000 bottles and is sold exclusively at Abrau-Durso Wine Atelier chain stores. Wines from this collection will also be available at select restaurants in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The label for this new wine is designed in the collection's recognizable style, but the primary color chosen is purple—the most mystical in the color spectrum.
